  • Covers sub-$250 price segment, Overclocked out of the box, Very quiet during gaming, Fans turn off in idle and light gaming—no noise, 4 GB VRAM, Backplate included
  • Price/performance not as good as other cards in this price segment, Not as energy efficient as NVIDIA Maxwell cards, 4 GB VRAM provides little benefit at 1080p/1440p, Lack of HDMI 2.0
  • According to AMD, the ASUS R9 380X STRIX will retail for $239. Covers sub-$250 price segment Overclocked out of the box Very quiet during gaming Fans turn off in idle and light gaming—no noise! 4 GB VRAM Backplate included Price/performance not as good as...

  • All in all, AMD has a great card in their hands with the Radeon R9 380X, and ASUS has done a great job with their spin on it with the STRIX card. If you're in the market for a new Radeon card that smashes 1080p and can be a formidable opponent at 1440p a...

  • Great 1080p performance, Decent price, Excellent Asus cooling
  • Middling 1440p prowess, Limited extra OC performance, Much quicker GPUs aren't much pricier
  • The R9 380X is a great little 1080p card, but often struggles running at the 1440p level AMD is aiming it at. Asus has undoubtedly made a great version of the card though, with quality cooling and almost silent operation...

  • The R9 380X is certainly capable of playing modern titles at 1440p with high or very high settings, and it's really the only sub-£200 card that that can be said for. Starting at £185, it's almost 25 percent more expensive than basic R9 380 and GTX 960 car...

  • Excellent 1080p performance, Quiet operation, Reasonably affordable
  • 1440p gameplay isn't always smooth, Doesn't stand out from the competition

  • AMD occupy the lone slot at £200, Asus cooler is exceptionally quiet at all times, more core headroom available via software, decent out of the box overclock, zero coil whine
  • not the most exciting release from AMD, but it targets a price point, power demand is greater than a GTX970 under load.
  • It seems rather unusual that AMD are able to target a price point that Nvidia are currently neglecting, but that is how it stands today. Right now you can either spend £150 on a GTX960 or R9 380, or make the jump to £250 for a GTX970 or R9 390. AMD have s...
