  • Dual tablet/laptop, terrific HD touch screen, powerful processor, full Windows 8,
  • Not cheap, sliding mechanism doesn't seem sturdy, no storage for stylus
  • The Duo 11 has a stonking screen and delivers an impressive performance. It shows off Windows 8 to best effect but while the sliding screen mechanism is distinctive, it won't be for everyone. This being Sony, it's no bargain, but if you want a hybrid t...

  • Abstract:  The Sony Vaio Duo 11 laptop has an identity crisis. Slipping and sliding, the Duo is in one instance a thick and heavy Windows 8 tablet before clumsily transforming into a Windows 8 laptop with an awkward, fixed-angle screen. In trying to do two things...

  • Vibrant display, portable, well built
  • No track pad, a little chunky, not great as a tablet, sliding mechanism is difficult to operate
  • As a notebook, the Vaio Duo 11 performs well, and the HD screen is high quality. But for £849 for the least powerful configuration, we think it is a little too expensive for what you get....

  • It’s certainly nice having the option of using the Duo 11 as a tablet from time to time. However, at this price the Duo 11 also needs to earn its keep as a workhorse laptop, and that baby-sized keyboard could deter many people who need a laptop that th...

  • Screen looks great, decent build quality, backlit keys, reasonable power
  • Touchscreen dirties up quickly, compressed keyboard is awkward, no dock for stylus, occasional orientation issues, when the fan kicks in it's horrendously noisy
  • The Duo 11's star of the show is its bright and detailed 1920 x 1080 resolution touchscreen. However when it comes down to it the compressed keyboard and touchscreen combination isn't the most comfortable for traditional laptop-like use. The Duo 11 fee...

  • Despite some glimmers of brilliance, the VAIO Duo 11 is neither a great tablet nor a great laptop. Indeed, the problem is that, while ingenious and beautifully formed, Sony’s decision to go the true convertible tablet route has forced it to compromise ...

  • Great screen, Staggering power, Top connectivity, QWERTY keyboard, High, end build
  • Laptop, esque weight, No trackpad, Small keyboard, Bulky, Keyboard can't detach
  • It may not be wafer thin or super-light, but it has a gorgeous Full HD screen, 128GB of storage, full connectivity and is as good for work as it is for play. That is something the iPad, Google Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire just can't compete with. While it's n...

  • Full HD resolution, Bright, bold screen, Very powerful components, Helpful convertible design, Portable size, Great Windows 8 software
  • Converting mechanism feels susceptible to damage, Volume buttons are awkwardly placed, Nowhere to store the stylus
  • The Sony Vaio Duo 11 offers a Full HD screen, a slide-away keyboard and some very powerful specs. It's a great way to take advantage of Windows 8's tiled interface, but you'll need to make sure you don't mistreat that sliding mechanism....
