  • Superb, color-accurate, high-res display, Very good keyboard and excellent touchpad
  • Not quite as thin and light as it could be, Heavier than similar Ultrabooks in its class
  • Gorgeous looks plus a great interface and display overcome the Envy 14 Spectre's slightly higher weight....

  • Softtouch magnesium alloy base gives grip to the underside. Stable, with solid performance. Outstanding audio quality. Love the approach to bundling. Slim power brick includes a USB charging port
  • Weak on the specs: Slow CPU and no graphics card. Design is difficult to open and even pick up singlehandedly. Feels awfully heavy in the MacBook Air era

  • Touch pad needs tuning, Merely average performance for the price, Too expensive

  • The HP Envy 14 Spectre has a unique glass-covered design and packs a lot of features into a slim 14-inch ultrabook body, plus its multitouch response is great for a Windows laptop
  • It's expensive, especially considering the standard components, and feels heavier than it should. The glass wrist rest can be awkward
  • The first big high-design laptop of 2012, the HP Envy 14 Spectre is a bold experiment that largely succeeds, if you're willing to pay a premium for it.
