  • Easytograsp mechanics create a deep system with a huge variety in successful play styles; multiplayer is, literally, a blast; very entertaining story and voice acting.
  • Still the occasional game lockup; gameplay balance skewed for multiplayer means that solo players can get bored of repeating same areas until they execute a perfect strategy; every level involves killing all in your way and the lack of secondary objectives stands out as a missed opportunity.

  • The fact that, at the time of writing, Magicka had surpassed 150,000 sales, is just a testament to how fun and addictive the core game really is. Now that most of the major hiccups out of the way, this is definitely a must-buy game, but it really needs to...

  • Abstract:  Have you ever wanted terrific power over the elements, calling down lightning or fire, as you will? Well, if Magicka has taught me anything, you’re probably better off practicing in a safe environment first, because for as many ways as there are to cal...

  • Abstract:  It could be said that Magicka is a large departure from the normal Paradox released title. The standard Paradox game often involves the grand strategy genre, so it’s refreshing that they have tackled the hack and slash genre. Although it suffered thro...

  • Unique and addictive magic system, Funny storyline skewers a lot of popculture touchstones, Cooperative campaign play holds promise.
  • Very buggy and crashprone, Autosaving system can leave you in the lurch, Visuals so cluttered in large battles that you can lose sight of your health bar.
  • Despite a lot of bugs and some off-putting quirks, Magicka is still a good action role-playing game....

  • Abstract:  Steam’s always coming out with some new unheard of title. Many of which can be safely disregarded as painfully mediocre or simply poor knock-offs of better major-league titles. Then, every once in a while, holding a candle in the darkness of obscurit...

  • Abstract:  Magicka might just be the surprise hit of 2011. This $10 action-oriented role-playing game features catchy spellcasting and a lighthearted story that riffs on everything from Monty Python to Star Wars. Not all is rosy with the bargain game, however, as...

  • Versatile magic system us tremendous fun. Multiplayer is simply a hoot.
  • While playable, there are still some bugs to squash.
