The editors liked
The other great thing about the screen is that it uses Sony's own Triluminos technology
Which is used in its TVs as well
Sony devices have always been known to look good
And the Z Ultra is no exception it has a beautiful unibody design that is not only solid
But very classy looking as well
The editors didn't like
Video quality is let down by the poor audio
Which comes only from a small speaker at the base of the device.
We were disappointed with the picture quality
As it was very grainy especially under low light conditions. Another drawback is that the device is not equipped with an LED flash.

The Sony Xperia Z Ultra takes the phablet concept, adds a bit more size, a lot more elegance and throws in specs to die for. More connectivity options than a very connected thing, more grunt than a Ferrari. Sony knows it will be a very niche device. But i...

Enormous 6.4″ full HD screen with Sony Bravia Engine 2, Snapdragon 800 SoC, Dust-resistant and waterproof, Pen input without an s-pen
No camera flash and the camera takes photos which are noisy and grainy, Large top and bottom bezels making a large phone even larger, Too large to fit in many pockets, impractical for quick tasks
The Ultra is a great big enormous phone that will unfortunately be impractically large for most people. I have a preference for large phones, but even I couldn't bring myself to use the device on a daily basis as it just doesn't suit my lifestyle – it doe...

As a tablet, the Xperia Z Ultra is really rather nice, with a mostly premium feel and very solid performance. It's so large it can't even hide behind itself. As a phone, though, it's a much more mixed offering. There comes a physical point where it becomes...
