The editors liked
The other great thing about the screen is that it uses Sony's own Triluminos technology
Which is used in its TVs as well
Sony devices have always been known to look good
And the Z Ultra is no exception it has a beautiful unibody design that is not only solid
But very classy looking as well
The editors didn't like
Video quality is let down by the poor audio
Which comes only from a small speaker at the base of the device.
We were disappointed with the picture quality
As it was very grainy especially under low light conditions. Another drawback is that the device is not equipped with an LED flash.

The Sony Xperia Z Ultra is a great smartphone, it is also a very big one. Those who crave the big screen will love the speedy performance, Sony's great UI and its excellent media playback options. It's just a shame that the camera isn't as good as the res...

Abstract: When we saw the Xperia Z last year, we were concerned. Not because it was a bad device; quite the opposite. No, we worried because it was going to be impossible to follow it up with something as impressive. Turns out our fears couldn't have been more unfo...
Huge 6.3in screen, Waterproof, not just water resistant, Handwriting recognition with regular pen or pencil
Relatively heavy, No camera flash, No AU release date
The Sony Xperia Z blurs the line between a phone and a tablet. The company claims the 6.4in smartphone is the world's slimmest with a full HD display...

The Xperia Z Ultra boasts a large number of supported frequencies, including AWS on HSPA+ and 2600Mhz on LTE. While Bell doesn't advertise that it has a 2600Mhz LTE network, it does, and it tends to be significantly faster than AWS, at least in Toronto. I...
Slim, attractive design, Waterproof, Good musically (with the right headphones)
Poor camera, Video processing is overdone, Feels oversized for phone use
Even if its size does appeal, its poor video performance takes away one of the putative advantages of its USP in one fell swoop. And while music fares better, its camera is a disappointment too....
Abstract: New technology has allowed our phones to get smaller and smaller, so it might be considered strange that one of the new big trends is for 'phablets'. These smartphones feature screens so big that they could easily double as fully-functioning tablets (henc...
Great big screen is great for movies, Loves bath time, Oodles of power, Sexy looks
Poor camera, ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE
The Xperia Z Ultra is a sleek, well-built super-phablet that blends together power, a premium build and a superb display to create a device that really can act as both a small tablet and smartphone. Once you get used to its huge size (and learn to not a...
The Xperia Z Ultra is definitely not a device that everyone should rush out and buy but it is an exceptionally useful and wonderfully executed device. Going back to a standard (5 inch) phone for every day use has really proved how good the Z Ultra is and...
Abstract: The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 , HTC One Max and Nokia Lumia 1520 are all big phones, but Sony has just out done the lot with the Xperia Z Ultra. See all smartphone reviews . The phablet has a whopping 6.4in display so is closer to the size of a Nexus 7 than...
The Sony Xperia Z Ultra is a nicely made device but doesn't represent good value for money. The phablet is extremely unwieldy and doesn't have a great camera. Sony would have been better off making this a 7in tablet rather than a 6.4in phone.>> Read on…Pa...
